Škoda Popular & Rapid

17 January - 27 April 2025

The inseparable duo of the Škoda Popular and Rapid holds a special place in Škoda’s 130-year history.
Ninety years ago, these lower- and mid-range models accounted for up to 95% of domestic and international orders, with the remainder made up of similarly designed higher-end vehicles such as the Škoda Favorit and Superb. Technically advanced, efficiently produced, reliable, stylish, and affordable, the Popular and Rapid played a key role in helping Škoda overcome the challenges of the global economic crisis. While many competitors collapsed or were taken over, Škoda emerged from the crisis stronger than ever. Since 1936, it has maintained its position as the Czech Republic’s leading car manufacturer and exporter without interruption.

This new exhibition at the Škoda Museum is sure to captivate fans of vintage cars and elegant ‘streamlined’ designs, as well as motorsport enthusiasts and lovers of innovative engineering. It also tells the stories of daring travellers exploring a world that has long since disappeared.
The exhibition features unique cars, period photographs and artefacts, and video projections – all on display from 17 January to 27 April 2025.
